Watchdog Names Co-operative Overall Winner



Co-op LogoThe Co-operative Bank is well known in the UK for offering ethical banking services. However, a recent survey shows the bank to be leading the way when it comes to customer service.

A recent BBC programme, “Watchdog” carried out a survey covering 45 different UK banks and building societies, including the internet bank Smile (part of Co-operative).

Internet bank First Direct came out on top, however second and third place went to Smile and The Co-operative Bank respectively - making Co-op the overall winner.

The Watchdog survey received a total of 13,126 votes from viewers throughout the UK, making the result an impressive outcome for The Co-operative Bank ans Smile current accounts.

Statistics have shown over 90 percent of Smile customers surveyed said they would recommend their bank to family and friends. Ninety-percent of Smile customers also felt the banks policies and charges were clear and transparent.

For customers who are dissatisfied with their present bank, Smile make it very easy to switch bank, this gives customers the benefit of internet banking 24/7 and excellent customer service.
